The season finale of “TrackTown Tuesday” shifts to Historic Hayward Field on Tuesday, June 2 as we get ready to celebrate the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

The party begins with a special social hour at 6 p.m. There will be complimentary appetizers, beverages, root beer floats and beer from Hop Valley Brewing Company. We’ll gather in the center of the Hayward Field infield.

The show begins at 7 p.m.

Our featured guest is University of Oregon track and field coach Robert Johnson. He’ll talk about the Ducks’ chances of repeating their podium finishes from last year’s NCAA championships. The UO men are the reigning NCAA outdoor champions and the UO women placed third. Two weeks ago, the Ducks swept the Pac-12 conference titles for the seventh consecutive season.

We asked Ben Blankenship to take 10 photos during his Prefontaine Classic experience. Ben won the international mile with a ferocious kick. Come hear about his pre race routine, his kick to the tape, and post race in our ‘a day in the life’ segment.

We also asked Aisha Praught to take 10 photos during her Prefontaine Classic experience. She competed in the 1500 meters. Past half way through the race, she had to pull up with a lower leg problem. Come hear from Aisha as she tells about that experience and how she will get back to Hayward Field for the USATF Outdoor Championships.

We are pleased to announce that Oregon Track Club Elite’s Alexi Pappas and Jeremy Teicher will be on hand to discuss their latest film project, “Tracktown.” As you can guess from the title, the movie takes place in TrackTown USA, and it tells the story of an aspiring Olympic runner who finds herself distracted by a budding romantic relationship in the midst of her first experience at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials.

Those in attendance will be treated to a first-hand look at the 4-minute movie trailer on the Hayward Field video board.

As always, TrackTown USA President Vin Lananna will host the event, and former UO three-sport star Jordan Kent will serve as master of ceremonies.

Parking can be found on street and in campus lots where labeled open parking after 6pm.
